Kazuo Harada

Kazuo Harada was a Japanese voice actor born on June 7, 1932, in Tokyo Prefecture. He passed away on December 19, 1998, at the age of 66. His career in voice acting spanned from the 1960s until his death, and he was active during the early years of Japanese television animation. He was affiliated with the talent management firm Dōjinsha Productions at the time of his passing.

Harada is widely recognized for his role as Umesaburou Sagawa, also known as Ume-san, in the television anime series The Gutsy Frog. He also provided the narration for the series Hippo and Thomas. In addition to his television work, he had a significant role in the original video animation series Giant Robo: The Animation - The Day the Earth Stood Still, which was released between 1992 and 1998, voicing the character Dr. Shizuma de Montalban III. His other anime voice roles include Sheri's Father in the 1983 film Unico in the Island of Magic and a part in the 1972 television anime Science Ninja Team Gatchaman.

Beyond anime, Harada was a prolific voice actor in Japanese dubs of foreign films and television dramas, appearing in numerous works throughout his career. Following his death, other voice actors took over several of his long-running roles.
