Kana Sakai is a Japanese voice actress, singer, and stage actress from Fukuoka Prefecture, born on November 11, 1986. She began her career under her real name, Kanako Sakai, before changing her stage name to Kana Sakai on her 29th birthday in 2015. Her career has included voice work in anime, video games, radio hosting, and live stage performances.

Sakai's path to voice acting began after she left high school to enroll in the Yoyogi Animation School's Fukuoka campus, followed by training at RAMS Professional Education. She made her anime debut as Yoshikawa Chiaki in the 2005 television series Magikano. Shortly after, she was cast in her first leading role as Onda Aka in the anime REC, a performance that garnered attention for a rookie voice actor playing the part of a rookie voice actor within the story.

Throughout her career, Sakai has taken on a variety of roles across different media. Her major voice roles in anime include Fujisawa Ruri in Lovely Idol, Ayumi Tsuwabuki in Stigma of the Wind, and Kikuri in the Hell Girl franchise, including the 2017 series Hell Girl: Fourth Twilight. She also voiced the character Keiya in multiple installments of the Jewelpet anime series. In the realm of original video animation (OVA), she portrayed Harpy in a DVD special of the series Muromi-san.

Sakai has been notably active in video game voice work. A recurring role is her portrayal of the character Compa in the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. She first voiced the character in the 2010 game Hyperdimension Neptunia and continued the role in its sequels, such as Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, as well as in the 2013 anime television series adaptation, Hyperdimension Neptunia: The Animation, and its subsequent movie. Her other prominent game roles include Shurelia in Ar tonelico 2, Lisa Casey Foster in Memories Off: Yubikiri no Kioku, and Rebecca Prusico in the PlayStation 2 version of Bullet Butlers.

Beyond acting, Sakai has also performed theme songs for some of her series, including the opening theme Cheer! ~Makka na Kimochi~ for REC and the ending theme Soyokaze Life for Hinemosu: Poor Sisters Story. She has also been involved in radio, co-hosting a program called Nanakana with fellow voice actress Inoue Nana, with whom she also formed a musical unit of the same name.

Over the course of her career, Sakai has been affiliated with several talent agencies, including Rams, OgiPro THE NEXT, and later becoming a freelancer. As of November 2021, she is affiliated with HS PROMOTION. Her body of work demonstrates a career spanning animation, video games, music, and stage performance.
