Kami Imai is a Japanese manga artist born on February 8, 1980. He is best known as the original creator of the manga Needless, which was adapted into a 24-episode anime television series by the studio Madhouse. His career as a creator spans multiple series published in various Japanese magazines.

Imai's most prominent work is Needless, which was serialized in Shueisha's Ultra Jump magazine from 2003 to 2013. The story was compiled into multiple collected volumes during its run. The success of the manga led to its anime adaptation, which premiered in 2009. He is also credited as the original creator for the related anime release Needless+: Saint Lily Gakuen no Himitsu, an original video animation series that serves as a spin-off within the Needless franchise.

In more recent years, he has provided the art for the manga adaptation of the light novel series Infinite Dendrogram, which began serialization in 2016, and he launched the original series Magaimono in 2019.
