Junichi Yanagita is a Japanese voice actor born on April 5, 1987, in Fukuoka Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency I'm Enterprise. His path to becoming a voice actor began in junior high school when a friend introduced him to the profession through an anime magazine. Despite initial opposition from his parents, he pursued his dream after moving to the Kanto region for university, where he joined the drama club and later a theater company. Following the disbandment of that company, he enrolled in the Japan Narration Actor Institute, completed its main course, and successfully passed his auditions to join I'm Enterprise, marking his professional debut in 2008.

Yanagita has built a career characterized by versatility, taking on a wide range of supporting roles across numerous anime television series, films, and video games. He is known for his ability to portray both comedic and dramatic characters, as well as shifting between younger protagonists and authoritative adult figures. For much of his early career, he performed primarily support roles, but he has since taken on more prominent characters.

One of his most recognized roles is Kurobe, the skilled swordsmith ogre and friend to Benimaru, in the popular anime series That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. He has voiced the character in the main television series, its spin-off The Slime Diaries, and the 2022 film That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond.

His other notable anime roles include Choji Ahane in Tokyo Revengers, Den Utsunomiya in Prince of Stride, and Aleksai Amigochaz in Tower of God. He has also been part of the casts for major franchises such as Gundam, with a role as Guston Parche in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, and Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest, where he voiced Metro. His film work includes roles in the Godzilla anime films Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters and Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle as Marco Ghione, as well as in Fate/Grand Order: Camelot and Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms.

Yanagita's career also extends to video games. He has provided voices for titles including Final Fantasy XIV, the Trails series with The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, and various games in Koei Tecmo's Nobunaga's Ambition series. In the game Rewrite, he voiced the character Yoshihiko Haru.

While he may not have received major individual awards, Yanagita's consistent work in high-profile and acclaimed series reflects the trust placed in him by studios and directors. His professional adaptability and dedication have made him a familiar and respected presence in the anime industry.
