James Cheek is a Dallas-based voice actor with over eight years of experience in the voice-over industry, primarily known for his work in English dubs of anime produced by Crunchyroll. He is perhaps best recognized for his role as San Lang and Hua Cheng in the English dub of the popular donghua, or Chinese animation, Heaven Official's Blessing, which held the distinction of being the first donghua that Funimation ever dubbed.

Cheek has built a diverse portfolio of voice roles in a variety of anime series. His credits include the character of Alvarto Exex in The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody, Walt Lizanis in I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss, and Udalon in Skeleton Knight in Another World. His work also extends to long-running and well-known series such as Assassination Classroom, One Piece, and Vinland Saga, as well as The Vision of Escaflowne. Beyond anime, he has voiced characters in video games, including Fantasian: Neo Dimension, and original animation, with his role as John Sincock in the Annie-nominated short film Birdsong being a notable achievement.

In addition to his on-microphone work, James Cheek is an accomplished voice director and writer in the anime industry. He is a staff writer for Crunchyroll, contributing to the English adaptations of numerous series. His writing credits include adaptation and ADR script work for shows such as Revenger, Vinland Saga Season 2, The Witch and the Beast, Black Butler: Public School Arc, Gods' Games We Play, and The Ancient Magus' Bride. He also co-hosts a podcast titled Guys and Dolls with his brother, William.
