Description
Ai Hashimoto is a Japanese actress and former fashion model who has also performed voice acting roles in anime productions. Born on January 12, 1996, in Kumamoto Prefecture, she began her entertainment career after winning an audition in 2008. She is affiliated with Sony Music Artists and initially gained recognition as a model for the fashion magazine Seventeen, making her acting debut in the 2009 film Give and Go. While Hashimoto's primary career is in live-action film and television, where she has received awards such as the Newcomer of the Year at the 36th Japan Academy Film Prize, she has taken on a select number of voice roles in animated projects.
Her voice acting credits include the role of Kazune Takigawa in the 2022 science fiction romance anime film Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e (To Every You I've Loved Before). In the same year, she also voiced the same character in the companion film, To Me, the One Who Loved You. In 2020, Hashimoto voiced the lead role of Natsuna Keyaki, a college student searching for a friend, in the television anime series Natsunagu!, a production by the Kumamoto Prefectural Government set in her home prefecture. One of her earlier voice acting roles was as Megumi in a 2011 animated commercial for Meiji candy, titled Megumi to Taiyō: Kajū Gummi Tweet Love Story, which was directed by Rintaro and animated by Studio Madhouse. She also provided the voice for the character Mana Hiiragi in the 2012 animated film Blood-C: The Last Dark. Her work in anime is sporadic and appears alongside her extensive commitments to live-action roles.
