Minori Terada was a Japanese actor and voice actor born in Tokyo on November 7, 1942. He began his career in 1961 after joining the Bungakuza Drama Research Institute, making his first screen appearance in 1965. Over a career spanning more than six decades, he became well known for his work in film, television, and voice acting for anime.
Terada's voice acting career includes two particularly notable roles. He voiced the character of Colonel Muska, the primary antagonist in the legendary Studio Ghibli film Castle in the Sky, directed by Hayao Miyazaki and released in 1986. Decades later, he took on the role of the Aonagi University director in the 2022 anime film Blue Thermal. Beyond these performances, his voice was frequently heard as a narrator across numerous television dramas and documentaries, a role for which he earned a strong reputation.
His work was not limited to voice acting. Terada was a highly respected live-action actor with a prolific filmography.
