Tomohiro Suzuki

Description
Tomohiro Suzuki is a Japanese screenwriter and series composer born in Tokyo on January 1, 1977. His career as a scriptwriter began in the late 2000s, with early work on live-action television dramas before transitioning to anime productions.

Suzuki’s professional profile rose significantly when he served as the series composer and primary scriptwriter for the first season of One Punch Man in 2015, produced by Madhouse. He continued in this capacity for the second season and is set to return for the third, demonstrating a sustained creative involvement with the franchise. Following this success, he became the series composer for several notable anime adaptations, including ACCA 13-Territory Inspection Department in 2017, the 2019 adaptation of Boogiepop and Others, and the critically acclaimed Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End in 2023. Beyond adaptation work, Suzuki has also contributed to original anime projects, creating the series composition for the original television series Double Decker! Doug & Kirill in 2018 and Negative Positive Angler in 2024. His film credits include writing the screenplay for the 2014 CG anime film Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary. In addition to his major series work, he has written scripts for individual episodes of productions such as Tiger & Bunny and Lupin the Third Part IV.

Regarding his creative approach, Suzuki has described his role in adaptations as being akin to a temple carpenter, prioritizing fidelity to the source material. For original works, he focuses on maintaining consistency in character settings and story content while also seeking ways to incorporate engaging elements that ensure the audience enjoys the final product. His body of work establishes him as a prominent figure in anime scripting, particularly known for his ability to handle major action-comedy franchises like One Punch Man as well as more contemplative fantasy series such as Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
