First Summer Uika
Description
First Summer Uika is a Japanese entertainer whose career encompasses singing, acting, and, more recently, voice acting. Born on June 4, 1990, in Osaka Prefecture, she began her career in 2009 as an actress under the stage name Hatsunatsu. Her path to wider recognition began in May 2013 when she joined the alternative idol group BiS, adopting the stage name First Summer Uika. Following BiS's disbandment in 2014, she continued her musical career as a member of the group BILLIE IDLE from 2015 until its end in 2019. She made her solo major debut in February 2021 with the single Chameleon.
In parallel with her music, Uika has built a substantial career in live-action television and film. Her acting credits include the 2019 drama Natsu no Kaze (Nagi no Oitoma) and the 2023 series Unknown.
Her entry into voice acting has been marked by a small number of high-profile roles. Her first major voice role was in the 2021 anime film 100 Nichikan Ikita Wani, an adaptation of the popular manga 100-nichi go ni Shinu Wani. In the film, she provided the voice for the character Inu, a friend of the protagonist. This role placed her alongside a cast that included veteran voice actor Tomokazu Sugita.
Following her anime debut, Uika has become more active in the voice cast of major video game franchises. She voiced the character Akame in the 2023 action-adventure game Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. This role was notable as it marked a significant foray into video game voice acting; reports indicated she had a strong desire to be part of the series, auditioning for both a minor role and the part of Akame, for which she was ultimately cast. She is also set to voice the character Noah Rich in the upcoming game Like a Dragon 8 Gaiden: Pirates in Hawaii, scheduled for release in 2025.
