Takao Sakuma is a Japanese singer and voice actor born on August 11, 1992, in Tokyo. He began his entertainment career in the music industry, initially performing under the stage name takao as the vocalist for the rock band Fo'xTails, which he formed in November 2013. The band made its major debut in 2015 with the single GLITTER DAYS, and their music was featured as theme songs for series including Kuroko's Basketball. Following the band's disbandment in 2018, Sakuma pursued formal training in voice acting at a vocational school for one year.

In February 2020, Sakuma announced the start of his solo career under his birth name, simultaneously debuting as a voice actor. His first and most prominent voice acting role to date is Nozomi Kōmori in the multimedia project Futsal Boys!!!!!. He voiced this character in the 2022 television anime adaptation and the 2021 game Futsal Boys!!!!! HIGH-FIVE. This role marked his official entry into voice acting. He has since taken on minor roles, such as a character listed as Male Student 1 in the 2023 anime series The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic and participated in a 2023 stage play adaptation of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

Parallel to his voice acting, Sakuma has established a concurrent career as a solo artist signed to the Lantis record label. He made his solo singer debut in January 2021 with the single Chase the core, which served as the opening theme for the anime Skate-Leading☆Stars. His musical work is closely tied to his on-screen roles; he performed the opening theme songs for the series he appears in, including Trigger for Ultraman Trigger and BRAVE MAKER for Futsal Boys!!!!!. He also provided the opening theme FROZEN MIDNIGHT for the 2023 anime The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague. He was affiliated with Apollo Bay under a talent contract until March 2024, after which his relationship with the company transitioned to a business consignment basis.
