Mai Kanno is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Tokyo, born on 14 August 1998. She is affiliated with the talent agency Mausu Promotion. Her path to voice acting began in early childhood when she joined a children's theater troupe at around five years old, an experience that helped her overcome shyness and fostered a love for performance. This early start included dubbing work for Disney Channel, which directly inspired her ambition to become a voice actress. She continued to hone her acting skills in a renowned high school drama club before formally training at the Mausu Promotion Actor Training School. She became a member of the agency in 2019.

Kanno's first anime role came while she was still in high school, voicing a character named Ai in the series I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying in 2014. Her career gained significant momentum with her casting as Sakura Kawasaki in the multimedia project Idoly Pride, announced in late 2019. This role, which she performed in both the anime adaptation and the associated video game, marked her breakthrough as a lead voice actress. Her performance in the series was noted for its emotional resonance, and she also performed in several music releases as part of the project's in-universe idol unit, Hoshimi Production.

In 2022, Kanno voiced the slime character Surapacchi in the isekai anime My Isekai Life. For this role, she was also a member of Surachanzu△, a six-person voice actor unit that performed the series' ending theme song. In late 2023, it was announced that she would star as The Redhead in the anime adaptation of Re:Monster, which premiered in 2024, fulfilling the specific roles mentioned in her growing filmography.

Beyond these key roles, Kanno has built a versatile career with a wide range of voice work in anime, video games, and other media. Her anime television credits include supporting roles in Aikatsu on Parade!, My Dress-Up Darling, Shadows House, The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. In video games, her performances include characters in Sakura Kakumei, Tenka Hyakken: Zan, eBaseball Powerful Pro Baseball 2022, and SaGa: Emerald Beyond. She is also active in drama CDs, digital comics, radio shows, and ASMR projects. Mai Kanno is known for her musical talents, possessing absolute pitch and the ability to play the piano. Her hobbies include needle felting, and she maintains a close friendship with fellow voice actress Emiri Suyama, who was her classmate at the Mausu Promotion training school.
