Riho Yoshioka

Description
Riho Yoshioka is a Japanese actress who was born on January 15, 1993, in Kyoto Prefecture. While she is primarily known for her extensive work in live-action television and film, she has also taken on a select number of roles in anime productions. Her career in entertainment began in 2013, and she gained wider recognition following her role in the 2016 NHK television series Here Comes Asa.

In the realm of voice acting, Yoshioka has contributed her voice to a few notable anime films. In 2019, she voiced the character Akane Aioi in the original anime film Her Blue Sky. This film was produced by CloverWorks and directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai, with a screenplay by Mari Okada, the creative team known for works like Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day. Her role as Akane is that of a young woman who sacrificed her own dreams to care for her younger sister.

Yoshioka also lent her voice to the 2021 Studio 4°C animated film Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko, directed by Ayumu Watanabe. In this film, she played the character Miu, a friend of the protagonist, Kikuko. Her involvement in this project was part of a larger ensemble cast. Her first experience with voice acting in an anime was in the 2017 film, where she provided the voice for Mikiko Hiramoto in the anime film.

For her broader work as an actress, which includes these voice roles, Yoshioka has received several accolades. In 2018, she was awarded the Elan d'or Award for Newcomer of the Year. She also won the Newcomer of the Year Award at the 43rd Japan Academy Film Prize in 2020. Her voice roles, however, are a smaller component of a career overwhelmingly focused on on-screen performances. There are no readily apparent patterns of recurring collaborations with specific anime directors or studios beyond the individual projects she has participated in.
