Tia Lynn Ballard is an American voice actress and ADR director, born on May 11, 1986, in Paris, Texas. She is primarily affiliated with Funimation and Sentai Filmworks, two major studios known for producing English dubs of anime series.
Ballard's interest in voice acting was sparked after attending a local anime convention and seeing a panel of voice actors. She pursued this interest by studying theatre and art at Paris Junior College, from which she graduated in 2006 with an associate degree. Her first professional voice acting role was at Funimation, where she played Young Asim in the series Dragonaut: The Resonance.
Over the course of her career, Ballard has lent her voice to a vast number of anime characters. Among her most prominent and enduring roles is Happy, the blue cat-like Exceed from the long-running series Fairy Tail, a role she began in 2011 and continued in the sequel Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. She reprised the role of Happy in Edens Zero, another series by the same creator, Hiro Mashima, where the character is reimagined as an alien android.
