Maddie Matsumoto is a Japanese-American voice actor, casting director, and creative entrepreneur known for her work in English dubs of anime and video games. Born in California, she was introduced to performing arts at a young age, participating in musical theatre from the age of five and later teaching herself piano. Her voice acting career began informally in 2013, and she balanced freelance voice work with her studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was also a member of the Drawn to Scale a cappella group and graduated with a degree in English.
Matsumoto became a full-time voice actor after graduating in 2021 and has since collaborated with studios such as Crunchyroll and Funimation. She is also a co-founder of Lunaria Sound, a remote recording studio established in 2020 that focuses on indie-friendly productions. In addition to performing, she takes on behind-the-scenes roles as a casting and voiceover director for independent games and animations.
One of her most prominent roles is Chisato Arashi in the official English dub of the anime series Love Live! Superstar!!, a main character and member of the school idol group Liella!. Her other notable voice credits in animation include Rosaline in Jian Yu Yuanzheng: Insomnia De Naxie Shier and Saya in Blue Reflection Ray.
Matsumoto has extensive credits in video game voice acting. These include the roles of Magallan in Arknights, Elena in Shadowverse, Bianca and Yanyan in Path to Nowhere, Celestia in Strinova, Mika in Mika and the Witch's Mountain, Risu in Grim Guardians: Demon Purge, and Lizzy in For Mother Matron.
