Lorraine Toussaint is an American actress who has built a substantial career in voice acting for animation in addition to her extensive live-action work. Born in Trinidad and a graduate of the Juilliard School's drama division, she began her career on stage before transitioning to film and television in the 1980s. Her voice acting roles have become a significant part of her diverse body of work, showcasing her ability to bring animated characters to life across various genres.

In the realm of anime and animated series, Toussaint is recognized for her role as Masago, a Sith Lady, in the Akakiri short from the Star Wars: Visions anthology series, which was animated by Science Saru and released in 2021. Another prominent voice role is that of Shadow Weaver, also known as Light Spinner, in the acclaimed Netflix series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. She voiced this complex antagonist-turned-ally for the series' entire run from 2018 to 2020. Her work in animation extends to feature films, such as voicing Queen Valerin in the Oscar-nominated Nimona in 2023.
