Takashi Imashiro is a Japanese manga artist born on August 28, 1960, in Kochi Prefecture, Japan. He made his professional debut in 1985 with the work People and Discontinuance, published in the magazine Business Jump. His career is primarily defined by his work as a manga author, with his original stories often serving as the source material for film and television adaptations.

Imashiro is the creator of numerous manga series and short stories. Among his notable original works are Hard Core, Demeking, and Ghost Cat Anzu. The original Ghost Cat Anzu manga was serialized in Kodansha's Comic BomBom magazine from 2006 to 2007 and was later compiled into a single volume. His other published works include Fishing Boy and its sequel, Tako-Pon, Ebb Tide, and The Right Stuff.

Several of Imashiro’s manga have been adapted into live-action and animated films. The manga Demeking was adapted into a live-action film released in 2009, and Hard Core received a live-action film adaptation in 2018. His most prominent adaptation to date is the 2024 animated film Ghost Cat Anzu, which is based on his original manga. This film is a French-Japanese co-production produced by Shin-Ei Animation and Miyu Productions, with direction by Yôko Kuno and Nobuhiro Yamashita. The film had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and was later screened at the Annecy International Animation Festival.
