Ruri Arai is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on February 5, 1996, in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency Apollo Bay. Arai began her professional career in 2018 after deciding to pursue voice acting during her third year of university. Her decision to enter the industry was inspired by her older sister, who worked in a voice-related profession.

Arai's early career involved participation in various media mix projects and stage performances. She was a member of the Voitama Project, a initiative designed to train new voice actors, and participated in its reading theater productions. She also appeared in stage plays and was involved in the LiveRevolt multimedia project, playing the role of Madoka Shiraishi.

Her first major recurring role in a television anime series came in 2021 when she was cast as Nagisa Imau in the idol audition anime Selection Project. Nagisa Imau is a 15-year-old middle school student from Kochi Prefecture and a member of the dance unit Splasoda°. In 2023, Arai voiced the character Ximena in the anime Kizuna no Allele, a project based on the virtual YouTuber Kizuna Ai. Ximena is a member of the 3DM8 group within the series.

Beyond these roles, Arai's anime filmography includes appearances in Akudama Drive as Tron in 2020, Saikyo Kamizmode! as Tenten in 2020, Duel Masters WIN in 2022, Rokudo's Bad Girls as a Ryugu Member in 2023, and Migi & Dali as a Customer in 2023. She is also active in video games, having voiced the character Polin in Brown Dust.

In addition to voice acting, Arai performs character songs for the series in which she appears, including theme songs for Selection Project.
