Jen Brown
Description
Jen Brown is an American voice actor with a long-standing association with Rooster Teeth Productions, where they have voiced numerous characters across various animated series. Brown's career in performance began in their teens, and they were a founding member of the Austin-based theatre company The Vestige Group in 2005, serving as Co-Artistic Director and contributing to productions as a performer, director, and designer. They shifted their focus toward voice acting and on-screen work in 2007.
Brown's most prominent and enduring voice role is that of Pyrrha Nikos in the internationally successful Rooster Teeth animated series RWBY. They were cast in the role from the show's inception in 2013, a decision that had been intended by the series' creator, Monty Oum, from the very beginning. To voice the character, Brown would stand on their toes to achieve a taller, more regal posture that matched Pyrrha's demeanor. When the anime spin-off RWBY: Ice Queendom was produced, Brown reprised their role as Pyrrha Nikos for the English dub, joining the rest of the original RWBY cast. Their work as Pyrrha also extended to the comedic spin-off series RWBY Chibi.
Beyond RWBY, Brown has been a recurring voice for Rooster Teeth, most notably as the voice of Agent Carolina in the long-running machinima series Red vs. Blue, a role they have played for many years, including in the 2024 film Red vs. Blue: Restoration. Their other voice work for the company includes Die-Mond in X-Ray and Vav and Ered in Camp Camp, as well as a live-action role in the Rooster Teeth series Day 5.
Outside of their work with Rooster Teeth, Brown has lent their voice to the long-running MMORPG DC Universe Online, where they are honored to have voiced iconic characters such as Harley Quinn, Mary Marvel, and Hecate. Expanding their creative portfolio, Brown is also a podcaster and content creator. They co-founded and hosted the podcast Women in Caskets, which focused on the horror genre, and later co-created the El Rey TV show Genre Graveyard with Jen & Fantasma, which was inspired by the podcast.
