Taiiku Okazaki
Description
Taiiku Okazaki is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, and voice actor. He was born Akitoshi Oka on July 3, 1989, in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, and was raised in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture from the age of three. He began his entertainment career as a musician in 2012, making his major-label debut in 2016 with the album Basin Techno under SME Records. His work in music has included writing and performing numerous theme songs for anime series, most notably for the Pokémon franchise, including the songs Pose, Your Adventure, and Twerp, Twerpette for Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon.
Okazaki's entry into voice acting began as an extension of his musical involvement with anime. His first voice acting role was a cameo in the Pokémon anime, where he lent his voice to a character in an episode of Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon - Ultra Legends in 2019. This character, a rapping member of Team Skull, was modeled after himself.
He subsequently took on a voice role in the 2022 anime series Cap Kakumei Bottleman DX. In this series, he voiced the character Tycoon Ochazaki. Similar to his Pokémon cameo, this character was also a minor role modeled after himself. His involvement with the series extended beyond voice acting, as he also performed its first opening theme song, Readycap!.
Okazaki's voice acting work is characterized by its direct connection to his primary career as a musician, often involving cameo appearances in the same anime projects for which he provides music. This pattern of involvement demonstrates a recurring collaboration with anime productions, particularly within the children's toy and gaming demographic.
