Akiko Utsumi is a Japanese voice actress and former member of the prestigious Takarazuka Revue, known for her versatile performances in anime, video games, and dubbed foreign media. She is affiliated with the talent agency Aoni Production.
Born on July 24 in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Utsumi graduated from Miyagi Daiichi Girls' High School before being accepted into the Takarazuka Music School in 2005. In 2007, she joined the Takarazuka Revue as part of the 93rd generation, adopting the stage name Karen Misora. She made her debut performance with the Star Troupe and was subsequently assigned to the Moon Troupe, where she performed as a musume-yaku, or female-role actress, in major productions such as Me and My Girl, Elisabeth, and The Scarlet Pimpernel. Utsumi retired from the Takarazuka Revue on May 29, 2011, following the Tokyo run of The Prince of the Rose Country/ONE.
After leaving the stage, she retrained for a career in voice acting, graduating from the Aoni Juku Osaka school as part of its 32nd graduating class. She joined Aoni Production and began her voice acting career in 2016 under her real name, Akiko Utsumi. Her debut anime role was as Nekomi in Soreike! Anpanman.
Utsumi has built an extensive portfolio of voice work across various media. In anime, she has taken on roles in long-running and popular series, including One Piece (where she voices characters such as Jigoku Benten), Crayon Shin-chan, Chibi Maruko-chan, Doraemon, and GeGeGe no Kitaro.
