Yūra Sugiura

Description
Yūra Sugiura is a Japanese actress and performer who was born in Tokyo on January 5, 2007. Her career began in live-action television before expanding into voice acting for anime. She trained at EXPG STUDIO TOKYO, a performing arts school affiliated with the entertainment company LDH.

Sugiura's first major role was in the live-action television series Police x Warrior Lovepatrina!, which aired from 2020 to 2021. She played the character Sora Nanairo, also known as Lovepat Shine. As part of this show's cast, she became a member of the idol unit lovely², which was formed from the series' performers. In 2021, lovely² was dissolved, and Sugiura joined a new unit called Lucky². Her activities as a performer also included a regular spot as an Oha Girl on the popular children's television program Oha Suta from 2021 to 2022.

Sugiura's most prominent voice acting role to date is in the anime series Gal-gaku. II: Lucky Stars. This 2022 anime is directly connected to her work as a musical artist, as it features the members of the Lucky² group. In the series, she voices a character named Yūra, who shares her own given name, effectively playing a fictionalized version of herself. This role represents a natural extension of her work as an idol performer into the realm of anime voice acting. Her other voice acting credit is a guest appearance in an episode of the anime Tomica Kizuna Gattai Earth Granner, where she reprised her live-action role of Sora Nanairo.

Sugiura's achievement in voice acting is intrinsically linked to her role in Gal-gaku. II: Lucky Stars. The series was created as a vehicle for the Lucky² group, and her participation is a key part of that multimedia project. Her career demonstrates a common path in Japanese entertainment, moving from live-action "girls x warrior" series and idol music units to related anime voice work. She continued her activities with Lucky² until the end of March 2025, when she graduated from both the group and her agency, SL Square LLP.
