Cindy Tempez

Description
Cindy Tempez is a French actress whose career spans theatre, on-screen roles, and a prolific body of voice work for film and television. Born on May 14, 1982, she is known for providing the French voices for numerous international actresses and characters in popular series and animated programs.

Her foundational training in drama was extensive, including studies at a conservatory, the Cours Simon, and the Cours Florent. Tempez began her performance career on stage, joining Robert Hossein's theatre company in the early 2000s and appearing in productions such as C'était Bonaparte and On Achève Bien Les Chevaux. She continued her stage work with the Jean Davy company and in a two-year run of Alfred de Musset's Les Caprices de Marianne in 2005. In addition to her performance work, Tempez spent six years working in film production, assisting directors Alexandre Arcady and Diane Kurys before moving to EuropaCorp to work with producer Pierre-Ange Le Pogam on films like Taken and Les Petits Mouchoirs. On screen, she is recognized for her role as Cécile Martely in the long-running French television series Plus belle la vie from 2012 to 2013.

Tempez's entry into voice work was facilitated by observing colleagues from Robert Hossein's company in the recording studio, with her first opportunity behind the microphone coming from the esteemed voice actress Perrette Pradier. While her voice can be heard in many genres, her work in anime and animated series forms a significant part of her recent career. In animation, she has voiced Gladys in Chasseurs de trolls: Les Contes d'Arcadia, Elise in By the Grace of the Gods, Kara in Cagaster of an Insect Cage, and Lily in She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man. Her other anime roles include Kosuke in Sabikui Bisco, Akemi Aizawa in Tomo-chan est une fille!, and Beatrix Amerhauser in Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead. As specified, she voices the character Angelica Rapha Redgrave in the French adaptation of the anime series Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs, a role she began in 2022.

Beyond anime, Tempez has built an extensive portfolio dubbing live-action performances. She has been the regular French voice for Katherine McNamara across several series in the Arrowverse. She is perhaps best known for her long-standing role as Jemma Simmons, voiced for Elizabeth Henstridge in Marvel: Les Agents du SHIELD for over seven years, a part she considers a career favorite. Her other notable television dubbing includes Nymeria Sand (Jessica Henwick) in Game of Thrones, Laura (Lindsley Register) in The Walking Dead, Nic Nevin (Emily VanCamp) in The Resident, and Hikari Kuina (Aya Asashina) in Alice in Borderland. In film, she has lent her voice to actresses such as Kelly Reilly in Flight and Zoe Kazan in Revolutionary Road.

Throughout her voice career, Tempez has worked with several directors on recurring collaborations, including Laurent Dattas, who directed her on Game of Thrones and Umbrella Academy, Hervé Bellon on Marvel: Les Agents du SHIELD, and Benoit Du Pac on The Walking Dead. Her achievements are reflected in the breadth and longevity of her roles, spanning major international franchises across both live-action and animation, demonstrating her versatility and sustained presence in the French dubbing industry.
