Yomu Mishima, whose name in Japanese is written as 三嶋与夢, is a Japanese author and original creator primarily known for his work in the light novel and manga industries. Originally from Kagoshima Prefecture, he began writing novels as a form of typing practice after purchasing a computer. He initially started posting his work on the internet under the pen name Wai, making his debut as a novelist in 2013 with Dragoon ~Ryūkishi e no Michi~.

Like many writers who rose to prominence in the 2010s, Mishima began his career by publishing web novels on the user-generated content site Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let's Become Novelists), where his works gained enough popularity to attract the attention of traditional publishers. He is best known as the author of the light novel series Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs, which he began serializing on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2017 and concluded there in 2019. The series was later published in print by Micro Magazine under its GC Novels imprint, with illustrations provided by Monda.

Another significant work by Mishima is the light novel series I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!, which began publication in 2020 and has also been adapted into a manga. His body of work also includes the Seventh series, which started in 2015, as well as other titles such as A Modern Fantasy! The Weakest Fighter in the World Aims for the Peak!. A spin-off light novel series titled Trapped in a Dating Sim: Otome Games Are Tough For Us, Too! was also published, based on an alternate story route from his original Trapped in a Dating Sim series.

The adaptation history of Mishima's work is extensive. The manga adaptation of Trapped in a Dating Sim, illustrated by Jun Shiosato, launched in Kadokawa's Dra Dra Dragon Age online manga site in October 2018. The series proved popular enough to spawn a television anime adaptation, which premiered in April 2022, with a second season later announced. Similarly, his I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! series has been adapted into an anime.

Mishima's artistic identity is characterized by recurring themes across his fantasy narratives. His stories often feature protagonists reincarnated into flawed feudal or aristocratic societies, where they must navigate political intrigue and complex social hierarchies. A notable recurring theme in his work is the portrayal of dysfunctional families, particularly parents who exhibit favoritism, neglect, or abandonment. Additionally, his narratives frequently include a strong element of subversion, with protagonists aiming to defy or overturn the established systems of the worlds they inhabit, as seen in both Trapped in a Dating Sim and I'm the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire!.
