Josh Petersdorf is an American voice actor recognized for his work in anime dubbing, video games, and theme park entertainment. He is known for his deep, resonant voice, which he has lent to a variety of characters ranging from authoritarian figures to hulking anti-heroes.

Petersdorf's path to voice acting began in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he developed an early interest in performance through theater and debate in middle school. After a period focused on sports in high school and a brief time in college, he left to pursue music. During this time, he and his friends created fan dubs of Japanese live-action shows like Kamen Rider, which rekindled his interest in acting. He eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue it professionally, taking acting classes while working a restaurant job to support himself. His first major professional break came when a friend told him about an opportunity to provide the live voice for the Transformers show at Universal Studios Hollywood. He auditioned and was hired, a role that involved improvising dialogue in real-time as both Megatron and Optimus Prime for a stilt-walking performer in a costume. This job helped him gain the confidence and agent representation that would lead to further opportunities.

In anime, Petersdorf is most prominently known for his role as Director Ton in the Netflix series Aggretsuko and its holiday special, Aggretsuko: We Wish You a Metal Christmas. He provided the English voice for the pig boss of the accounting department from the show's debut in 2018 through its conclusion in 2023. His other anime credits include roles in the film Children of the Sea and the series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Ishura.

While he has a presence in anime, Petersdorf is also an extensively sought-after voice actor in the video game industry. One of his most notable and career-defining roles is that of the hulking Australian outlaw Roadhog in the massively popular team-based game Overwatch and its sequel, Overwatch 2. His other prominent video game characters include the colossus Galio in League of Legends, General Cross in Rage 2, and Mike Haggar in Street Fighter V. He has also voiced numerous characters for Blizzard Entertainment, including various roles in World of Warcraft expansions such as Legion and Shadowlands, as well as in Hearthstone and StarCraft II. Other game credits include Morion in Fire Emblem Engage, Duma in Fire Emblem Heroes, Terminus in Paladins, and Arioch in Shin Megami Tensei V.

Beyond traditional voice-over work, Petersdorf has sustained a long-running and unique career performing at Universal Studios Hollywood. For many years, he provided the live, improvised voices for both Megatron and Optimus Prime in the pre-ride show for the Transformers 3D attraction. His work at the theme park has also included performing as the narrator for Godzilla's M.U.T.O. files, The Grinch in the annual Grinchmas event, and the Sorting Hat for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter's nighttime light show.
