Sana Kirioka is a Japanese manga artist known for creating romantic historical manga series, most notably Taisho Otome Fairy Tale. Kirioka is a female creator who made her professional debut in 2009 with the short story Bijo Rhythm, published in Monthly Comic Alive. Her early career included the连载 series E in Monthly Comic Blade from 2011 to 2012, followed by several short works and the series Shizuko wa Ore no Yome.

Kirioka achieved broader recognition with the manga Taisho Otome Otogibanashi, also known as Taisho Otome Fairy Tale. The series was first published as a short story in Jump SQ.19 before beginning regular serialization in Shueisha's Jump Square magazine in July 2015. The manga concluded in September 2017 and was compiled into five tankobon volumes. The story, set in the early 1920s Taisho era, follows the pessimistic Tamahiko Shima, who is sent away by his wealthy family after a car accident paralyzes his right arm, and the optimistic young Yuzuki Tachibana who is sent to be his caretaker and future bride.

The success of Taisho Otome Fairy Tale led to an anime television adaptation produced by SynergySP, which aired from October to December 2021, spanning twelve episodes. The anime was directed by Jun Hatori with scripts by Hiroko Fukuda.

Following the conclusion of the original series, Kirioka created a sequel titled Showa Otome Otogibanashi, which was serialized on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ platform from August 2018 to May 2020, also collected in five volumes. A spin-off manga, Taisho Otome Otogibanashi: Pessimist no Shokutaku, ran on Shonen Jump+ from July to December 2021 and was collected in two volumes. Kirioka has also contributed illustrations to a light novel adaptation of Taisho Otome Fairy Tale and participated in tribute anthologies for other series.

Kirioka's artistic identity is characterized by heartwarming romantic dramas set against specific historical backdrops, particularly the Taisho and Showa eras of early twentieth-century Japan. Her stories typically feature protagonists who have suffered misfortune or social exile finding hope and healing through sincere human connection. The creator is known to reside in or have origins in Chiba Prefecture and has shared that she owns cats named after characters from her work. Her active period spans from 2009 to the present, and she continues to create manga as well as participate in doujinshi activities under the circle name Memechi Diamond.
