Yuko Suzuhana
Description
Yuko Suzuhana is a Japanese singer-songwriter and voice actor, best known as the leader and vocalist of the band Wagakki Band. Her career is deeply rooted in music, having studied classical piano from the age of three and the traditional Japanese performing art of shigin, a form of sung poetry, from the age of five. She furthered her musical education by majoring in classical piano at the Tokyo College of Music. In 2011, she won first place in the Japan National Shigin Contest, demonstrating her mastery of this traditional art. Suzuhana founded Wagakki Band in 2014 with the goal of expanding traditional Japanese performing arts to a global audience, a mission that has seen the band achieve significant success in Japan and on international tours.
Her entry into voice acting came in 2021 with her debut role in the anime television series Peach Boy Riverside. In the series, she provided the voice for the character Atra, an angel who is a powerful combatant and harbors a long-standing affection for another character, Frau. This role marked her first work as a voice actor in anime. In addition to her voice role, she also performed the opening theme song for the same series, titled Dark spiral journey, in collaboration with the musical team Q-MHz.
Suzuhana's work is often tied to her musical projects. Beyond her role in Peach Boy Riverside, her songs have been used as theme music for other anime and video games, including Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and the game SD Gundam: Generation Genesis.
