Takahiro

Description
Takahiro is a Japanese writer, novelist, and screenwriter known for creating manga and anime series across multiple genres. Born in 1981 in Shibuya, Tokyo, his real name is Takahiro Imaizumi. He began his career in the visual novel industry, working at the studio Candy Soft where he contributed to titles such as Tsuyokiss. In 2006, he founded his own visual novel studio, Minato Soft, where he serves as chairman and continues to write scenarios for games including Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!.

Takahiro transitioned from visual novels to mainstream manga and anime around 2010. His breakout work was the dark fantasy manga Akame ga Kill!, which he created with illustrator Tetsuya Tashiro. Serialized in Square Enixs Monthly Gangan Joker from March 2010 to December 2016, the series follows an assassin group fighting a corrupt empire. The manga was adapted into a 24-episode anime television series in 2014, significantly expanding his audience. He later expanded this universe with the prequel Akame ga Kill! Zero and the spiritual successor Hinowa ga Crush!.

Among the specific credits mentioned, Takahiro is the original creator of the OVA series 15 Bishōjo Hyōryūki, released in 2009. His more recent and ongoing work is the manga series Chained Soldier, known in Japan as Mato Seihei no Slave. Written by Takahiro and illustrated by Yohei Takemura, the series began serialization on Shueishas Shōnen Jump+ online platform in January 2019. The story is set in a near-future Japan where portals to a dangerous dimension called Mato have appeared, and a special military unit composed of superpowered women fights the creatures that emerge. The protagonist, Yuuki Wakura, gains the ability to fight by transforming into a slave for one of these commanders. An anime television series adaptation of Chained Soldier, animated by Seven Arcs, aired from January to March 2024. A second season, produced by Passione and Hayabusa Film, premiered in January 2026. By June 2025, the manga had over 5.5 million copies in circulation.

Beyond these works, Takahiro has created or contributed to numerous other anime series. He was the original creator and scriptwriter for Yuki Yuna is a Hero in 2014, a magical girl series that blends slice-of-life elements with high-stakes battles. He also created Release the Spyce in 2018, an original anime about a team of teenage spies, and World Dai Star in 2023, which focuses on aspiring stage actresses. His writing credits extend to series composition for Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de and scriptwriting for Samurai Flamenco. He has also worked on video games, including writing for Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy & the Liberator of Polar Night in 2023.

A recurring element in Takahiros original creations is the blending of intense action with character-driven drama, often featuring strong female ensembles and supernatural or fantasy combat systems. His narratives frequently involve themes of rebellion, survival, and moral ambiguity, as seen in the assassins of Akame ga Kill! and the hierarchical struggles in Chained Soldier. His background in visual novels, which often prioritize multiple character routes and romantic subplots, has informed the harem and relationship dynamics present in several of his manga and anime projects. Takahiros ability to generate successful multimedia franchises, spanning manga, anime, and visual novels, has established him as a significant figure in contemporary Japanese pop culture, particularly within the action and fantasy genres.
