DAIGO
Description
DAIGO is the stage name of Japanese entertainer Naito Daigo, a musician, actor, and talent who has also taken on select voice acting roles in anime and film. He was born in Tokyo on April 8, 1978, and is widely known as the lead vocalist of the rock band BREAKERZ. His career in entertainment began in 2003 under the stage name DAIGO☆STARDUST, and he later rebranded himself as DAIGO in 2007.
While primarily focused on his music career, DAIGO has contributed his voice to several anime projects. One of his earlier and more prominent voice roles was in the 2009 animated film Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser, where he voiced the character Mizutani Kosuke. In 2014, he took on the role of Sena Shogo in the television anime series Love Stage!!. He also voiced Silva in the 2016 anime series Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On.
DAIGO has a recurring connection to the Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise, though often in a self-referential capacity. He appeared as a live-action version of himself in the 2014 film Cardfight!! Vanguard: The Three Games and provided his voice for an animated version of himself, credited as "Legendary Fighter DAIGO," in a 2015 episode of Cardfight!! Vanguard G: GIRS Crisis. In the mixed-media project D4DJ, he voiced the character Mitsuhashi Ku in the 2020 anime series D4DJ First Mix and its associated mobile game.
Beyond anime, his voice acting work also includes dubbing foreign films into Japanese. Notable dubbing roles include Wesley Gibson in the 2008 film Wanted and August Walker in the 2018 film Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He has also appeared extensively in live-action television dramas and films, such as the 2012 tokusatsu film Ultraman Saga.
