Josh Hutcherson

Description
Josh Hutcherson is an American actor who has built a career spanning live-action film and television as well as voice work for animated projects. Born in 1992, he began acting in the early 2000s and gained prominence as a child actor with roles in films such as The Polar Express, Zathura: A Space Adventure, and Bridge to Terabithia. He later achieved widespread recognition for his portrayal of Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games film series.

In the realm of voice acting, Hutcherson has contributed to several animated features and series. One of his earliest voice roles was as Markl in the English-language dub of the acclaimed animated film Howl's Moving Castle in 2004. That same year, he provided the voice and motion-capture performance for the Hero Boy in the feature film The Polar Express. He also voiced the character Van-El and a young Bruce Wayne in the animated series Justice League Unlimited. In 2013, he voiced the lead character Nod in the animated film Epic. He later voiced the title character in the 2018 animated film Elliot: The Littlest Reindeer.

Hutcherson's most prominent role in an anime adaptation is his performance as Shinjiro Hayata, also known as Ultraman, in the English dub of the Netflix original CG-anime series Ultraman. He voiced the character across all three seasons of the show, which were released in 2019, 2022, and 2023. This role placed him within a cast of seasoned voice actors for the long-running franchise's animated iteration.

Through his work on Ultraman, Hutcherson was involved with a consistent group of voice actors and production staff. The English-language versions of the series featured a regular cast that included Fred Tatasciore as Shin Hayata, Matthew Mercer as Bemular, and Tara Sands as Rena Sayama. The dubbing for the series was led by voice director Jeff Nimoy and casting lead Jamie Simone, with whom the cast collaborated across multiple seasons.

While Hutcherson has received awards and nominations for his live-action performances, particularly for The Hunger Games, his work as a voice actor has been part of widely distributed projects that have introduced his performances to global audiences on streaming platforms. His body of voice work encompasses both Western animation and English adaptations of anime, demonstrating a versatility that complements his live-action career.
