Takeshi Nogami

Description
Takeshi Nogami is a Japanese manga artist and character designer known for his extensive work on military-themed stories featuring young female characters. His professional career began with the series Koutetsu no Shoujo-tachi, also known as Panzerfraulein, which was published by Kadokawa Shoten but canceled after four volumes. Following this, he created several other manga series, including Sailor Fuku to Juusensha, a comic about tank-riding high school girls published by Akita Shoten, and Tsuki no Umi no Rua, a story inspired by the tale of Princess Kaguya set during World War II, published by Shonen Gahosha. He also contributed the comic for Moeyo Sensha Gakkou!!, a semi-educational book about tanks from Ikaros Publishing.

Nogami is notably connected to the broader Girls und Panzer franchise. He assisted with original character designs for the Girls und Panzer anime and is the artist for the spinoff manga Girls und Panzer: Ribbon no Musha, which was serialized in Media Factory's Comic Flapper magazine from September 2014 to March 2021. He also provided character designs for the anime series High School Fleet. His work extended to the anime Shirobako, where he designed the Third Aerial Girls Squad, and within that series's narrative, a character resembling him named Takezo Nogame is credited as the original creator of that fictional squad.

His other manga credits include Shidenkai no Maki, which ran in Akita Shoten's Champion RED magazine from 2013 and ended in December 2019, as well as Marine Corps Yumi, a series for which he provided the art. Beyond his professional publications, Nogami is active in the doujin circle Firstspear, known for creating works based on series like Strike Witches. Across his diverse body of work, a consistent element is his focus on combining military hardware and settings with stories centered on girls and young women.
