Mayuki Anan

Description
Mayuki Anan is a Japanese manga artist and original creator, recognized primarily for the mystery series Nazotoki-hime wa Meitantei. Anan was born on July 25 in Oita Prefecture, Japan, and is a female creator. Her professional career as a manga author began in the mid-2000s, with early works including Cherish!! from 2005 and LoveComi Lesson from 2007.

Anan is best known as the original creator of Nazotoki-hime wa Meitantei, a shoujo mystery manga that began serialization in Japan on November 29, 2010, published by Shogakukan. The series follows Hinami, a bookish and bespectacled girl who transforms into the clever "Princess Mystery Time" to solve various cases alongside her two friends. The manga is long-running, having been compiled into more than seventeen volumes, and remains ongoing. The series has been localized internationally; for example, the French edition is titled Princesse Détective and has been published by Nobi nobi! since 2018, with at least sixteen volumes released in that language as of 2023. The work is catalogued for a young teen audience, typically ages nine and up.

The success of the manga led to an anime adaptation. A six-episode original video animation (OVA) series titled Nazotoki-hime wa Meitantei was produced by the studio SynergySP and directed by Shingo Uchida. The OVA aired from August 3, 2012, to December 27, 2013. Anan is officially credited as the original creator for this anime adaptation. Beyond this flagship series, Anan has authored several other manga, including Momoiro Honki Mode! (2009), the one-shot Sweetheart Devil (2015), Fushigiboshi no Futagohime (2015), and Change! - Chigau Watashi ni Nareta Nara (2015). Her body of work is consistently classified within the shoujo demographic.
