Chiyako Shibahara is a Japanese voice actress and actress, born on August 9, 1970, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent management firm 81 Produce for many years before becoming a freelance artist at the end of 2022. Her career in the entertainment industry began in her teenage years when she was a member of a theater troupe from the age of 14 to 18, during which she appeared in television dramas and films. She also hosted as a DJ on a mini FM radio station. Her entry into voice acting was prompted by a friend introducing her to an audition for an insert song in the anime Key the Metal Idol, a role that ultimately launched her voice acting career in 1994.
Shibahara has built a versatile career, lending her voice to a wide array of characters in anime, video games, and dubs of foreign productions. She is recognized for her ability to portray both comedic and dramatic roles, often giving characters a distinct energy.
