Yuto Ramon
Description
Yuto Ramon is a Japanese author and game creator known primarily for his work in science fiction and light novels during the late 1980s and 1990s. His real name is Yuhei Yamaguchi, and he was born in 1957. Ramon was a founding member of the game developer Random House in 1983, having been a college friend of the company's founder. In 1986, he left to establish his own game company, Artec. He has been a freelance writer since Artec ceased operations around 1991.
Ramon is best known as the original creator of the science fiction light novel series Jikō Wakusei Gdleen. The series was published by Kadokawa Shoten under its Sneaker Bunko imprint, with illustrations by Hitoshi Yoneda. The first volume, subtitled Kamigami no Mikotachi, was released in September 1989, and the series ran for a total of seven volumes, concluding in November 1991. The Gdleen series was adapted into a 45-minute original video animation in 1990, directed by Takao Kato and Toyoo Ashida. A role-playing video game based on the anime adaptation was also developed by Jorudan and published by SETA for the Super Famicom in 1991.
Beyond the Gdleen franchise, Ramon has been credited as an original works creator and scenario writer for several video games. He contributed the scenario for Dark Wraith in 1988 and served as director on Digan no Maseki the same year. In 1992, he was credited for the original work on Silva Saga for the NES. His later credits include scenario work on Silva Saga II: The Legend of Light and Darkness in 1993, script cooperation on Rampo for the SEGA Saturn in 1995, and the scenario for Amagi Shien in 1997.
