Erena Ono
Description
Erena Ono is a Japanese former actress, singer, and voice actor, born on November 26, 1993, in Tokyo. She began her entertainment career in 2006 as a second-generation member of the popular idol group AKB48, where she was part of Team K and was known by her nickname, Erepyon. Her early involvement with the group led to her sole, but notable, foray into anime voice acting.
In 2007, Ono voiced the character Yuki in the original video animation series ICE. This role was a unique project that directly involved members of AKB48. A special subgroup named ICE from AKB48 was formed specifically for this anime, with Ono and several other group members providing voices for the series's characters. The subgroup also performed the opening theme song for the OVA. Her role as Yuki, one of Lady Kisaragi's adopted daughters in the science fiction story, stands as her only credited work in anime voice acting.
Beyond this voice role, Ono's career was primarily focused on music and live-action performance. While still a member of AKB48, she acted in films such as the live-action adaptations of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. She graduated from AKB48 in September 2010 to pursue further training but returned to the entertainment industry in 2011. She subsequently launched a solo music career, releasing several singles and an album, and won the Best New Artist award at the 54th Japan Record Awards in 2012. Ono continued to act, taking on roles in television dramas and films, including a lead role in the 2014 film The Snow White Murder Case. She retired from the entertainment industry in July 2014. Her voice work in ICE, carried out during her time with AKB48, remains a distinct and singular entry in her varied career.
