Junko Okada is a Japanese voice actor and sound director, born on May 23, 1973, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. She began her career in entertainment through theater, working as an aspiring stage actress after graduating from high school, a background that distinguishes her from many voice actors who typically train at specialized voice acting schools.

Her professional voice acting debut came in 1997 when she successfully passed a public audition for the game Sentimental Graffiti, securing the role of Taeko Adachi. This role proved to be a significant breakthrough, leading to her voicing the same character in the anime adaptation Sentimental Journey and establishing her presence in the industry. Throughout her career, she has worked under several agency names, including Genki Project, and has also used various stage names such as Sakurai Mirei and Jun Taoka for different types of work.

Okada has contributed voice work to a range of notable anime series. Among her major roles are Nozomi Fujimiya in Wind: A Breath of Heart and Kei Shindō in ef: a tale of memories, as well as its sequel ef: a tale of melodies. She also voiced Fosetta in the mecha anime Zegapain. In addition to these leading roles, her extensive anime credits include appearances in Kodocha as Rumiko Yokota and GetBackers as a nurse.

Beyond anime, a substantial portion of her career has been dedicated to voice work in video games, particularly visual novels. Her game credits are extensive and include roles such as Celina Felix in The Fiancée, Manami Asakura in Bittersweet Fools, and Yoshimi Suga in Sugar+Spice!. She frequently collaborated with the game studio minori, which was founded by her husband, producer Sakai Nobukazu. Under the stage name Sakurai Mirei, she performed in several of minori's game productions.

In addition to performing, Okada has worked as a sound director and has lent her voice to narration for commercials and educational programs. She has also contributed her musical talents, performing and writing lyrics for theme songs related to the projects she has been involved with. Her dedication to the craft extends to teaching, as she has served as a lecturer at the Yoyogi Animation Academy, mentoring aspiring voice actors.
