Anjali Bhimani is an American actress with a diverse career spanning stage, television, film, and voice acting for video games and animation. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 30, 1974, she was raised in Orange County, California, and is a graduate of Northwestern University. Her career began in theatre, with a long-standing collaboration with director Mary Zimmerman that led to her Broadway debut in the play Metamorphoses in 2002. She has since accumulated numerous credits in live-action television, appearing in series such as The Sopranos, Modern Family, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and the Marvel Studios series Ms. Marvel.
While Bhimani is widely recognized for her iconic video game roles, such as Symmetra in Overwatch and Rampart in Apex Legends, her work in animation and English-dubbed anime includes specific and notable performances. She voices the character Emeralda Zubin in the English version of the 2021 anime film Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway. Within the Gundam franchise, Emeralda Zubin is a field agent for the anti-Earth Federation organization Mafty, and in the film, she is tasked with the dangerous mission of piloting a mobile suit to assist the protagonist, Hathaway Noa, in acquiring the Xi Gundam.
