Kaya Kiyohara
Description
Kaya Kiyohara is a Japanese actress, model, and voice actor born on January 30, 2002, in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency Amuse, Inc., which she joined after winning the Grand Prix at the Amuse Audition Festival in 2014. Her career began in 2015, initially focusing on modeling for fashion magazines and appearing in live-action television dramas and films.
While Kiyohara's primary career is in live-action performance, she has taken on prominent roles in animated feature films. Her debut as a voice actor came in 2015 when she was cast as the mysterious girl Noruda in the Studio Colorido animated short film Typhoon Noruda. This role marked her entry into anime voice acting at the start of her career.
Kiyohara returned to voice acting in a leading role for another major animated feature. In 2020, she voiced the title character in the Bones-produced film Josee, the Tiger and the Fish. She played Kumiko Yamamura, a young woman in a wheelchair who uses the pen name Josee. This performance was part of a film adaptation of a well-regarded short story.
Aside from these two feature films, there is a record of a voice role in a 2019 television animation, though details about the project are limited. Her work in voice acting is a notable but smaller facet of her career, which is defined by numerous awards and critical acclaim for her live-action acting in both film and television.
