Chris Sykes

Description
Chris Sykes is an American actor and performance artist based in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex whose professional work encompasses live theatre, improvisational comedy, and voice acting for anime. His path to voiceover work was built upon a foundation in live performance that began in his youth. Sykes started acting in professional theatre around the age of fifteen and competed in high school on local, state, and national levels. He later earned an associate degree in acting from KD College and became a company member of the Ochre House Theatre in Dallas, where he has performed in over ten world-premiere productions. His performance repertoire includes skills in acting, singing, dancing, and puppetry.

Sykes entered the anime voiceover industry through background work for Funimation, now known as Crunchyroll. His first major credited role came with the anime series Show By Rock!! Mashumairesh!!, in which he voiced the character Hachin. This role was confirmed in announcements regarding the English dub cast and production credits. He reprised this role for the subsequent series, Show By Rock!! Stars!!, continuing his association with the franchise. In addition to these principal roles, his voice work includes providing additional voices for the English dub of the anime series Sasaki and Peeps.

Recurring collaborations in Sykes's voice career include working under the direction of ADR director Megan Shipman, who directed the English dubs for both Show By Rock!! Mashumairesh!! and Show By Rock!! Stars!! at different recording studios. His notable achievement in the field remains his casting as Hachin, which marked his entry into principal anime voice acting shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond voiceover, Sykes continues to maintain an active performance career, including roles as a Lord Marshal and Master of Ceremonies at Medieval Times in Dallas and as a member of the improvisational group The Laugh Supper.
