Rie Miyazawa is a highly acclaimed Japanese actress whose career spans live-action film, television, and stage, with a smaller but notable body of work in voice acting for animated projects. Born in Tokyo on April 6, 1973, she began her career as a child model and made her acting debut at the age of fifteen in the 1988 film Seven Days War, a performance that earned her the Japan Academy Award for Newcomer of the Year. While she rose to prominence as a leading actress and former teen idol, winning numerous accolades including multiple Japan Academy Film Prizes, her voice acting roles have contributed to her diverse filmography.

Miyazawa's voice acting credits include a range of films and series. She provided the voice for Iratsume of Fujiwara in the 2005 animated film The Book of the Dead. She narrated the 2009 nature documentary Oceans.
