Runa Narumi

Description
Runa Narumi was a Japanese voice actress and singer active in the entertainment industry from 2016 until her retirement at the end of 2021. She was born on November 19, 1995, in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture. Her passion for anime and games developed during her high school years, leading her to enroll in the voice acting and anime song course at the Yoyogi Animation Academy's Hiroshima campus after graduation. Inspired by her peers, she successfully auditioned to transfer to the academy's Tokyo campus during her second year. Following her graduation from Yoyogi, she joined the talent agency Stardust Promotion.

In January 2017, Narumi became a member of SoundOrion, a voice actor unit formed by Stardust Promotion. Her early career aspirations were to become a multi-talented voice actor capable of singing and dancing, eventually evolving into a desire to be a performer audiences would not tire of watching. Her breakout and most prominent role was as Yuika Mitsumine in the popular franchise game The Idolmaster Shiny Colors, a part she began voicing in 2018. As a member of the in-game unit L'Antica, she performed on several character singles, two of which achieved top-ten rankings on the Oricon Singles Chart. She also served as a host for the associated radio program, The Idolmaster Shiny Colors Habataki Radio, from 2018 to 2021.

Beyond this signature role, Narumi built a diverse portfolio of voice work across anime and video games. In anime, her notable roles included Haruna Tani in Rifle Is Beautiful, and the role specified by the user, Ao Nekogahora in the short anime series Rebirth. She also had parts in Interspecies Reviewers as Raimii, The Eighty-Eight Cat Observation Diary, Argonavis from BanG Dream!, and Platinum End. Her video game credits were extensive, featuring characters such as Lewis Carroll in Monster Strike, Erika in KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World! Fantastic Days, Christina Serum in Death End Request 2, and Mikasa Sengokuhara in the multimedia project Onsen Musume, among many others. Her work also extended to stage performances, including a 2016 production of Teekyu.

In October 2021, Narumi's agency announced she would be taking an indefinite hiatus from her career due to health issues. Later that same month, it was announced she would be leaving the unit SoundOrion. On December 29, 2021, Stardust Promotion officially announced that Runa Narumi would retire from the entertainment industry, effective December 31, 2021. Following her retirement, several of her roles were recast. For instance, Shio Kisui assumed the role of Yuika Mitsumine in The Idolmaster Shiny Colors, and Sachika Misawa took over the character Mikasa Sengokuhara for Onsen Musume.
