Mesquita's career included several prominent roles in anime that were broadcast in Brazil. She voiced the title character Marco Rossi in the 1999 film Marco - Carry a Dream, an adaptation of the classic story "From the Apennines to the Andes". She is also known for providing the Portuguese voice for the iconic character Lynn Minmay in The Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Her other anime credits include the role of Rei in the series Shinzo and voicing Lady Devimon in both Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02, as well as Daisy in Digimon Tamers.

In addition to her work in anime, Adalmária Mesquita lent her voice to various characters in Western animation for Brazilian audiences. These roles included Smurfette in an older dub of The Smurfs, Dotty in Get Along Gang, and Nether Bruxa in Thundercats. She also voiced the character Denis (Hermey) in a version of the classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer special and Chromia in Transformers.
