Sadahiko Sakamaki is a Japanese animator, character designer, and animation director with a career spanning from the 1970s to the present day. Born on October 22, 1954, in Tokyo, he is a graduate of the Tokyo Designer Gakuin (now Tokyo Net Wave) and serves as the representative director of the production company Delta Peak Production.

Sakamaki is credited as an original creator for the anime television series Taiga Adventure, also known as Mirai Shounen Conan II: Taiga Adventure, which aired from 1999 to 2000. For this production, he was responsible for the original work, character design, and also contributed by drawing over 1900 storyboards. The series is noted as a new adaptation inspired by the 1978 cult series Future Boy Conan.

Beyond this project, his career is defined by extensive work in character design and animation direction across numerous television series. His notable character design credits include Meme Iroiro Yume no Tabi (1983-1985), Uchuusen Sagittarius (1986-1987), Shin Grimm Meisaku Gekijou (1988-1989), Jungle Book: Shounen Mowgli (1989-1990), and Boukensha (1992-1993).

As an animator and animation director, his credits are extensive and include key animation on prominent works such as the television series Araiguma Rascal (1977), Lupin Sansei (the second television series from 1977-1980), Space Cobra (1982), and the landmark film Akira (1988). In later years, he has continued to work on major productions, serving as an animation director and key animator on long-running series like One Piece and Fairy Tail, and as a prop designer and animation director on Lupin Sansei series and specials in the 2010s. His recent credits include animation direction on the fifth season of Date A Live in 2024.

Throughout his lengthy career, Sakamaki has demonstrated a consistent role as a foundational creative figure in anime production, transitioning from key animation work in the late 1970s to character design and supervisory roles in the decades since. His industry significance is reflected in his sustained involvement in both classic and contemporary anime productions, working across a wide variety of genres and formats.
