Yomu
Description
Yomu is a Japanese illustrator and manga artist whose professional career began in October 2015 with a debut in the adult manga magazine COMIC High, published by Akane Shinsha. The creator has built a distinct artistic identity focused on detailed illustrations of women wearing tights, a theme that gained early attention through a self-published work titled Yomu Tights. This thematic focus became a hallmark of subsequent projects and led to wider recognition.
In 2019, Yomu served as the original creator and storyboard artist for the web anime Miru Tights, which was released on streaming platforms. That same year also saw the release of a special booklet tied to the series. This adaptation established a foundation for further animation projects. In 2021, Yomu’s ongoing illustration series Ganbare Dōki-chan, which had been serialized on Twitter, was adapted into a web anime. The series follows the interactions of office coworkers and became another major credited work for the creator.
Beyond these original animated works, Yomu has contributed illustrations to several art books. The first commercial art collection, Paint it, Black, was published in September 2020. Earlier black tights-themed art books, including kuro Tights and its subsequent volumes, were released between 2018 and 2020 with Yomu providing illustrations. The creator has also worked as an illustrator for light novels, such as the series Kibishii Onna Jōshi ga Kōkōsei ni Modottara Ore ni Deredere Suru Riyū. Additional industry recognition includes providing an end card illustration for the anime Is the Order a Rabbit? BLOOM and collaborating with the Japanese hosiery company ATSUGI on a project titled Love Tights in 2020.
