Tomoaki Ikeda is a Japanese voice actor and stage actor born on June 12, 1976, in Miyazaki City, Miyazaki Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent management firm Voice Theatre Image. His early career involved training at the Nikkatsu Arts Academy and completing the 4th term program at the Voice Theatre Image affiliated institute. Before fully committing to voice work in Tokyo, he initially based his activities in his hometown of Miyazaki.
Ikeda's career in anime began in the early 2000s. One of his earliest credited roles was as Anri Bernakes in the 2002 series Ojamajo Doremi Dokkān. In the same year, he provided voices for various Digimon characters, including Candlemon, Shellmon, and Deputymon, in Digimon Frontier. He has since built a extensive list of credits, often voicing supporting or recurring characters.
Among his most recognized roles is his work as the second voice actor for Shinnosuke Nohara's grandfather, Yoshiji Koyama, in the long-running series Crayon Shin-chan.
