Nozomi Kasuga
Description
Nozomi Kasuga is a Japanese voice actress born on June 30, 1995, in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. She began her career in 2015, initially working under the name Suzu Aoi after passing an audition for a mobile game role. She is a graduate of the Clare Voice training school. Kasuga became a junior member of the agency Clare Voice in January 2018 and was promoted to full membership in January 2019. She left the agency in March 2020 to work as a freelancer and later joined the agency Swallow in July of that same year. Kasuga's career took a significant turn in March 2022 when she announced she would not accept new voice acting roles under her own name, effectively transitioning away from traditional on-screen voice acting.
Kasuga is most widely known for being the original voice provider for the pioneering virtual YouTuber Kizuna Ai, a role she performed from the autumn of 2016. This connection was officially confirmed in April 2020 when she was named an advisor to the newly established Kizuna Ai株式会社. Her most notable traditional anime role is Mimi Rin in the 2019 original television series Granbelm. Other anime appearances include minor roles in series such as Starmu, Time Bokan 24, Lostorage incited WIXOSS, The Morose Mononokean II, and Planet With, as well as a role in the 2020 theatrical film Shirobako. Her work in video games includes roles in Monster Strike, Azur Lane, and MapleStory, among others.
Kasuga has a recurring collaboration with fellow voice actress Yukari Anzai. Together, they hosted a radio program titled "Do Yu No the Radio," a title derived from their nicknames, Yu-chan and Non-chan. A notable achievement outside of voice acting was her decision to start a personal YouTube channel in April 2020, where she expressed a desire to focus on her goal of becoming a singer. In 2021, she and Anzai participated in a project where they wished "Happy New Year" in 30 different languages for their radio show.
