Serina Seo

Description
Serina Seo, also known under the pseudonym K Doll, is a Japanese manga artist and writer born on December 17. She began her career in 2013 creating doujinshi, or self-published works, before transitioning to serialized manga with her first compiled volume released in 2017. Seo specializes in the boys' love genre, which depicts romantic relationships between male characters, and her work is generally aimed at a josei demographic of adult women.

Seo is best known as the original creator of the manga series Even a Dad Still Wants It..., known in Japanese as Papa Datte, Shitai. The story follows a fourth-year college student who works as a housekeeper for a single father, leading to a romantic relationship between the two men. The manga began digital serialization in May 2017 on the Screamo label and has been collected into multiple print volumes by the publisher Suiseisha under its Glanz BL Comics imprint. The series achieved recognition early in its run, placing third in the Best Erotic category of the Chil-Chil BL Award in 2019.

The success of the manga led to an anime television adaptation, which premiered on Tokyo MX in January 2019. The anime was produced by the studio Magic Bus and directed by Mitsutaka Noshitani, with Serina Seo receiving credit as the original creator. Following the standard practice for the ComicFesta label, the series was broadcast in two versions: a standard version for television and a complete version with mature content available for online streaming.

Beyond her most famous work, Serina Seo has created several other boys' love manga. Her other titles include Aishitagari W Darling, which also ranked in the Chil-Chil BL Award in 2019, and Secret Therapist, which was recognized for its cover design. Her artistic identity is closely tied to the boys' love genre, and her narratives often explore contemporary relationship dynamics. Critical analyses of her work note recurring themes such as single parenthood, coming out, and age-gap relationships. She remains an active contributor to the genre, with her series Even a Dad Still Wants It... continuing serialization past its initial volumes.
