Kiri Wazawa

Description
Kiri Wazawa is a Japanese manga artist and writer, best known as the creator of the supernatural comedy series The Morose Mononokean. Wazawa is credited as the original creator behind the anime The Morose Mononokean II, which serves as the second season of the animated adaptation of this work. The manga first began serialization on September 12, 2013, in the online magazine Gangan Online, published by Square Enix. Wazawa is responsible for both the story and the artwork of the series. The English language release of the manga is also handled by Square Enix.

Beyond The Morose Mononokean, Wazawa has created other manga works. These include Binbougami no Susume, also known as Poor God's Advice, which was released in 2016. Wazawa also contributed to the Kakegurui anthology with Kakegurui Yorozu: Kakegurui Koushiki Anthology in 2017, providing the story and art for that entry. A more recent ongoing series by Wazawa is Adashi no Kikansakan, which is serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine.

The first anime adaptation of The Morose Mononokean aired in Japan from June to September 2016. Produced by the studio Pierrot Plus, the series was directed by Akira Iwanaga. The second season, The Morose Mononokean II, premiered on January 5, 2019. For this sequel, the direction was handled by Itsurō Kawasaki, while the production remained with Pierrot Plus. In all adaptations, Kiri Wazawa is formally credited as the original creator and for the original character designs.
