Kou Kimura
Description
Kou Kimura is a Japanese novelist and manga artist, primarily recognized as the original creator of the light novel series Petopeto-san. Kimura is also a novelist from Kamaishi, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. The light novel series Petopeto-san, written by Kou Kimura and illustrated by Yug, was published by Enterbrain under their Famitsu Bunko imprint. The series ran for five volumes from February 20, 2004, to December 24, 2005. The story is a romantic comedy set in a Japanese school where humans coexist with "specified races" based on yōkai from Japanese mythology.
An anime television adaptation of Petopeto-san, produced by the studio Xebec M2, aired from July 9, 2005, to October 1, 2005, spanning 13 episodes. In this production, Kou Kimura is officially credited as the original creator. The narrative follows a human boy named Shingo Oohashi and his relationship with Hatoko "Petoko" Fujimura, a girl from the PetoPeto race who feeds on love and can become transparent without it.
Beyond this work, Kimura has also been credited with the manga God of Dog in 2020. Kimura has additionally worked in anime under the pseudonym Myougaya Jinroku, contributing scripts to series such as Revisions (2019) and Estab Life: Great Escape (2022).
