Hikaru Miyata was a Japanese voice actor born on September 30, 1930, in Tokyo, Japan. He passed away on September 23, 2018, at the age of 87 due to an acute aortic dissection. His career spanned several decades, during which he contributed voices to a wide range of anime television series and films.
Miyata's filmography includes a number of notable roles. In the sports anime series Kyojin no Hoshi: Dai League Ball from 1970, he provided the voice for the character Motoshi Fujita. He is also known for his role as Shogun, a former crime syndicate boss and informant, in the 2002 anime series Heat Guy J. Additionally, he voiced Dred Barton in the series The Maiden Diaries.
He had a long-running association with the Naruto anime franchise, voicing the character Homura Mitokado, one of the village's elders, across multiple series including the original Naruto (2002), Naruto Shippuden (2007), Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals (2012), and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (2017).
