Yashichiro Takahashi is a Japanese novelist and light novel author, best known as the creator of the long-running supernatural action series Shakugan no Shana. Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1972, Takahashi made his professional writing debut after receiving an honorable mention in the eighth Dengeki Novel Prize for his work A/B Extreme, which was subsequently published by Dengeki Bunko in 2002.

Takahashi's most significant and enduring creation is Shakugan no Shana, a light novel series that began publication in November 2002 and concluded in November 2023, spanning 27 volumes. The series follows Yuji Sakai, a high school student who discovers he has died and exists as a temporary replacement "Torch" for a consumed human, and a warrior named Shana who fights supernatural beings known as Crimson Denizens.
